Come walk through a slice of a sustainable Surrey neighbourhood. Featuring interactive displays and games, this address is the embodiment of waste reduction, energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. Stroll through a model sustainable house, visit the waterwise garden, learn how nurse logs help the forest, and enter a contest to win a bicycle.

The Community Centre Tent will be the hub of social sustainability at the Surrey 2010 Celebration Site.
Hosted by the City of Surrey, the Community Centre Tent will present “theme days” during the event. Local organizations and groups will showcase their work on critical issues in our community, present interactive events, and share stories of success.
Drop by for winter seedling planting, family story time, a pocket winter market, and build your ideal play area with LEGO! Learn about seniors programs in Surrey, participate in a live blog about housing and homelessness, and see inspiring multi-cultural dance performances.
Theme Days will include the following:
-Homes for Everyone, presented by the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Task Force and Society
-Surrey Seniors Planning Tables
-Food for Everyone, presented by the Surrey/White Rock Food Action Coalition
-Youth Issues, presented by Surrey Leadership Youth Council (SLYC)
-Family Day, co-organized by the Office of Early Childhood Development and the City’s Parks, Recreation and Culture staff
-Multi-Cultural Sharing, presented by the Surrey Foundation
The Community Centre Tent will also host Family Story Time presented by the Surrey Public Library, on the three Sundays that the Celebration Site will operate.
The tent will be animated by special artwork from local students and artists, focused on the themes of sustainability in Surrey.
The City of Surrey , an official partner of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games , will play host to the biggest games-time celebration south of the Fraser. The Surrey 2010 Celebration Site is a 13 day FREE winter festival featuring live entertainment, live Games broadcasts, arts performances and on-site activities.
